THE COMPANY

SETMABAS S.A. is an ecuadorian company that is dedicated to the inspection and certification of life saving and firefighting equipment on board since 1984.
However, the very beginning of the Company dates back to 1977 when its founder, Mr. Hugo Cisneros Torres, began his long career and training in Hamburg-Germany thanks to the instruction received at inspection and maintenance service of warships and submarines liferafts from the National Navy, under the direction of Autoflug technicians.

Since then, his technical specialization has been strengthened thanks to multiple international training programs in charge of recognized manufacturers and experts in marine safety field in Panama, Argentina, Japan, Brazil, China, Mexico, Chile and USA, which finally allowed him to develop a specialized and internationally certified technical staff, able to meet customer´s requirements in all ecuadorian ports.

Thanks the company is part of one of the main service networks worldwide and to its access to very detailed up to date maintenance manuals, service bulletins and international training programs, our work keeps to the highest standard and our technical ability is continuously being upgraded. In 2014, the company decides to implement ISO 9001 for a Quality Management System under the approval of Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (Reg. No. 14-647) and to become the first Company in Latin America to obtain the Quality Certification with the prestigious Japanese Class Society.

Its service stations, the largest and best equipped in the country are recognized by the National Maritime Authority and approved by the most important Class Societies, in compliance with the highest standards established by the main manufacturers of life rafts worldwide.
